After leaving the Army, Elston became an Educator for the District of Columbia Public School System. He headed many after school programs including Physical Agility, the Science Project, and the Boys to Men Mentoring programs. With the desire to enhance his knowledge as an Educator, he furthered his education at Trinity University in Washington, D.C. In May 2002, he graduated with Honors with a Masters of Arts in Teaching and continued to make a positive impact on the youth under his tutelage.
Due to budget restraints of the school system, Elston made the difficult decision to pursue a career in law enforcement. In June 2005, he graduated from the United States Capitol Police Academy and received the Distinguish Cadet Award, an honor voted by his fellow classmates. Officer Green was assigned to the Communication Division, where he continues to serve as a Communication Training Officer.
Elston has served in various roles in the ministries of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, the Soul Factory, Tree of Life Christian Ministries, and Doers of the Word Church. He was ordained as a minister during his membership with the Tree of Life Christian Ministries, where he served as the Head of the Men’s Ministry, Youth Leader and Mentor, Head Usher, Sunday School Teacher, and Church Board member.
In January 2019, after much prayer and wise counsel, Elston Green answered the call to Pastor and planted The Believers’ Sanctuary, located in Charles County, Maryland. He serves as Senior Pastor of this ministry.
Elston Green has been married to the former Nicole Brown approaching 21 years. Together they have two beautiful children: Jalen and Ellyse.
